The Unpaid Carer’s Befriending Project is a partnership project between the Community Volunteering Team, The Unpaid Carers Team and Independent Living Service at Cardiff Council. This project is looking to recruit a team of volunteers who are passionate about providing friendship and low-level support to Unpaid Carers across Cardiff.
What we’re looking for:
- Empathetic people who are passionate about providing support to Unpaid Carers;
- An understanding about who an unpaid carer might be, or a willingness to learn;
- People who are warm and friendly, and love building relationships with people;
- People who love learning new things and are committed to finding out more about services that can help people who are unpaid carers;
- Access to a phone or computer in order to undertake befriending activities;
- Someone who is able to commit to a regular volunteering day (at least once a week);
- An ambassador for Cardiff Council, through following relevant policies and procedures.
