“Meet Up Monday” is a fun, inclusive social afternoon that tackles social isolation and poor mental health by creating a friendly, relaxed and welcoming space for all. We are looking for people who can help to lead this group.
Session details:
Day and time: Every Monday 1pm to 3pm (volunteers needed 12.45 – 3.15)
Location : Llanrumney Hub, Countisbury Avenue, CF3 5NQ
Person to contact : Kostiantyn.Verman@cardiff.gov.uk (07812 506426)
What we need the volunteers to do:
- Have an interest in people and their stories
- Set up the space and clear it up afterwards
- Come up with activities for the group and take part in activities. The ideal volunteer will take an active role in planning, organising and leading activities for the group. Volunteers need to also be happy to join in with group activities to help create a fun atmosphere.
- Communicate with their mentor and hub staff.
Special requirements:
- You must be 18 or older
- Able to volunteer on a predictable schedule (weekly is ideal but it’s more important that we can plan around your availability)
- We will ask for 2 references before you start volunteering with us (again, please chat to us if you have any concerns)
- The group is conducted in English so your spoken English needs to allow you to explain activities to the group and answer adhoc queries and requests
- We are not able to support people to relocate for this volunteering vacancy.
