Cathays & Central Youth & Community Project is a registered charity(number 1122532) and company limited by guarantee that manages Cathays Community Centre. As well as aiming to serve our local community in Cathays, we have developed some specialist support services for young people (11-25) that attract people from Cardiff and the wider region.
Inclusive Youth Provision (IYP)
Here at CCYCP we offer bespoke inclusive provisions to help assist and support young people ages 11 -25 who have a range of additional needs in the school holidays. The activities throughout the day include: arts & crafts, sports, games, dancing classes, pool table tournaments, gaming, cooking & baking, day trips outside, nature park walks, cinema and bowling trips. We also have a certified sensory room that can be used throughout the day inclusive to all young people.
This service aims to give young people a social space that encourages key skills, independence and creativity.
Your responsibilities will include: One on one support work, helping those with additional needs with their work & on-going projects, taking young people with ALN into the community, assist with a range of social activities including Helping them make a purchase or going on a walk.
Your skills must include: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, work well in a team environment, having lots of friendly, positive energy to engage young people, have lots of patience and genuine care for individual abilities, Be practically ready for anything – as every day is different! you may be dancing one moment and then off on a train trip the next!
You would be working alongside professionals with years of experience, learning in a safe and inclusive environment that offers a wide range of hands on experience and opportunities.
The Cathays IYP (inclusive youth provision) program runs through all school holidays: Half terms, Easter, Summer & Christmas weekdays: 10am – 3.30pm starting in the Main Hall at Cathays Community Centre.
