Cardiff Research & Engagement Centre is part of Cardiff Council. We work with council colleagues and partner organisations to run public consultations, surveys and focus groups to support decision-making.
What we’re looking for:
– We’re looking for volunteers who have a passion for helping people to use their voice to shape council decisions;
– We’re looking for someone who loves to talk with all sorts of people, loves to learn, and is always looking to gain new skills and experiences;
– We’re looking for someone with discretion and tact.
– We’re looking for someone who has empathy for those who may not normally take part in surveys, and are able to encourage and support them to share their views.
Ability to speak community languages eg Somali, Arabic etc would be an advantage, but is not a requirement.
To approach Hub visitors, tell them about the current survey, and encourage them to take part.
– To give one-to-one support for people to complete a survey if that is helpful/required.
– Complete paper based or online version
– Monitor supplies of surveys to ensure the display is well-stocked, and looking good. Inform your mentor if supplies are running low.
– Ensure completed surveys are posted into the blue ballot box.
We will :-
Talk you through the current survey, so you are familiar with its content.
Show you how we approach Hub visitors, as a guide for you.
Show you how the survey displays should look, so that you can maintain them.
