Say Aphasia offers supportive groups for individuals with aphasia; a communication and language disability caused by brain injury. We provide a nurturing environment where they can connect and share experiences. Our goal is to empower those with aphasia to regain confidence, reconnect with life, and embrace a positive outlook despite their communication challenges. By creating a sense of community, we help participants feel less isolated and more confident in navigating their daily lives. Our groups serve as safe havens where the complexities of aphasia are understood and accepted. It’s important to note that around 360,000 people in the UK live with aphasia, yet awareness of this condition remains limited.
The role includes:
● Providing a safe, inclusive and accessible environment.
● Adhering to Say Aphasia’s policies and procedures.
● Responsible for group admin, alongside the Peer Leader.
● Responsible for gathering members’ information using Say Aphasia’s digital Forms alongside the Peer Leader.
● Provide communication support for members during the support group.
